Do’s & Donts for your Appointment
MRI Appointments
Patients who are scheduled for MRI Appointments.
- Please bring your all previous radiology X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, blood reports and films / CD along with Doctor’s prescription for study
- The patient can eat drink and take medicines before the scan. No prior fasting is required except for MRI abdomen and MRCP (2 hours fasting is required).
- The patient must be accompanied by an attendant for the scan.
- Please inform if you have any of the following condition (s) to the Radiologist / MRI Technician:
- Pacemaker
- Cerebral aneurysm clips
- Cochlear implant
- Metallic impact
- Foreign body or infusion pumps
- Tattoo/ Permanent make up/ Body piercing
- Neurostimulator
- Any kind of ferromagnetic material in body including dentures
- Cardiac implants like an intra-aortic pump, pacing leads, value implants, etc.
- Vascular stents
- Chronic kidney disease, in case of contrast study
- Please do not bring any “METALLIC” items (like jewelry, key chains, pens, coins, metallic belts, etc.) for the appointment.
- Appointments would be adhered to as far as possible. However, emergency patients may have to be taken in between and you are requested to bear with us in this eventuality.
- Please report 15 minutes in advance of your scheduled appointment time to complete the registration process and other paperwork.

X-Ray Appointment
Patients who are scheduled for an X-Ray appointment
- Please bring all previous radiology X-Ray, CT, MRI, blood reports and films / CD along with the doctor’s prescription for study advised.
- Please inform, if the patient is pregnant. Radiation is hazardous to the pregnant female and fetus.
- Please report 15 minutes in advance of your scheduled appointment time to complete the registration process and other paperwork.
- Please avoid carrying any valuables when you come for the appointment.

Ultrasound Appointment
Patients who are scheduled for an Ultrasound appointment
- Please bring all previous radiology X-Ray, CT, MRI, blood reports and films / CD along with doctor’s prescription for study advised.
- Please report 15 minutes in advance of your scheduled appointment time to complete the registration process and other paperwork.
- Please avoid carrying any valuables when you come for the appointment.

- For Abdomen & Pelvis Ultrasound:
- Preferably nil by mouth for 4 hours before the appointment but not compulsory
- To drink 2-3 glasses of water 2 hours prior to appointment and to come with a full bladder. You can drink water after coming to the hospital for full bladder.
- Obstetrics / Gynecology Ultrasound:
- To drink 2-3 glasses of water 2 hours prior to appointment and to come with a full bladder. You can drink water after coming to the hospital for full bladder.
- For pregnant & suspected pregnancy, prescription of doctor with stamp and signature in original is MUST as per the government guidelines.
- Thyroid, Scrotum, Doppler, Carotid Doppler & Sonomammography, etc.
- No preparation required.
Mammography Appointment
Patients who are scheduled for an Mammography appointment
- Please bring all previous radiology X-Ray, CT, MRI, blood reports and films / CD along with the doctor’s prescription for study advised.
- Please inform, if the patient is pregnant. Radiation is hazardous to the pregnant female and fetus.
- Please report 15 minutes in advance of your scheduled appointment time to complete the registration process and other paperwork.

CT-Scan Appointment
Patients who are scheduled for an CT-Scan appointment
- Please bring all previous radiology X-Ray, CT, MRI, blood reports and films / CD along with doctor’s prescription for study advised.
- 4 hours fasting is required for contrast scan. Patient can take routine medicine (s) as per their schedule and can drink plain water also during fasting.
- The patient must be accompanied by an attendant for the scan.
- Normal serum creatinine report is must for contrast study.
- Please inform, if patient is pregnant. Radiation is hazardous to the pregnant female and fetus.
- Please inform to the radiologist or the radiology technician, if there is any history of contrast allergy, any drug allergy, or asthma.
- Appointments would be adhered to as far as possible. However, emergency patients may have to be taken in between and you are requested to bear with us in the eventuality.
